How To Customize Windows 7 logon Screen without Third-Party software.

This time around I’ll show how to customize and change the Windows 7 default logon screen to your like.

There are many ways to proceed. Two of them are:

           - Using Third-Party software which can be an easier method.

           -  Without using Third-Party software.

By now I’ll help you customize your Windows 7 logon screen by using the Second method. This requires that we modify the registry using the Registry Editor.

Here we start.

Open the Registry Editor: Press the Windows KEY along with the R Key, in the “RUN” box type “regedit” and press enter.

Navigate to the following: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\LogonUI\Background.

Find the Key “OEMBackground”. If the key does not exist then create a new DWORD key and name it “OEMBackground”

Open the KEY “OEMBackground”. Double click to open the key. By default Windows has set its value to 0, set its value from 0 to 1.

Now open “Computer” or “Windows Explorer” and follow this patch: %systemroot%/system32/oobe
Created a new directory(folder) name it “info”

Create a new directory within “info” name it “backgrounds”.

Move your desired wallpaper into the “backgrounds” directory, rename it as “backgroundDefault.jpg” the wallpaper must be less than 245KB in size.

Now you’re done reboot and enjoy!
